Mermaids

This is my 3rd tattoo. My idea, tattoo artists original design. My best friend has a mermaid (which looks nothing like this one) so it represents our friendship in that way.  I decided on a peacock tail because I have always loved peacocks and they represent immortality and royalty.  They are also assosiated with Jesus in the church.  She also represents me.  she is turned away a bit because she isn’t revealing herself to the world.  Mermaids are mysterious, and I feel people don’t know the real me.   she represents all of this! :)

This is my fourth tattoo. She is on my right thigh just done this week by Javier Eastman at Ink-Side-Out tattoo in Norwalk, CT.

One session 6 hours. The thigh is way more painful than expected, especially on the side. A day later I am still in quite a bit of pain. I recommend doing more than one session, but more me that wasn’t possible as I am about to leave to go back to school. Worth it though and my artist commended me for not bitching and moving at all through it haha

I absolutely love it. Although, from far away the face looks quite harsh because there is a strand of hair near her cheek bone making her look that way, but up close and in person she is quite beautiful and soft. I will send another picture of the face up close.

I have never seen a mermaid tattoo I’ve liked and I am so happy to finally have mine. I absolutely love the ocean and have always found a connection in the beauty and mystery in encompasses and mermaids, although a fictional representation, show a lot of that for me. I also find the human form and sea animals absolutely fascinating. I also have an octopus tattoo that there is a photo of on my blog as well. If you want to know more just ask me.
